Welcome on the Homepage of CFMove.

This Site gives you a small overview on what CFMove is and a small "how it would be".

First of all, what is CFMove?

CFMove is a small program for the TRGpro (actually it is incompatible to the Handera or other Palms using OS 4.0) which enables the user to move or copy files from one directory to another inside of the CF Card without copying first to ram (which only works with prc and pdb files) as you would do when using CFpro. It is similar to the move or copy command (DOS) or the mv and cp command (*NIX). I wrote that because I use several programs that operate on the root directory only. Now I am able to move files away from there.

How to use CFMove (based on: version 1.4)

Now comes a small "How-To" which shows all screens of CFMove.
This way the TRG looks when CFMove starts: It shows you the root directory of your CF Card:

Here you can choose the source file, as you can read in the title. In our case, we switch to Palm-LAN\ICQ.prc:

Now we are back in the root directory and we can choose the destination directory. You may have noticed the MKDIR text. When you press on the 2 in the circle, you get here:

NOTE: in this case I already entered a dirname, normally it is empty. If you don't create a new directory and choose the actual one by pressing 1, the following happens:

You are now asked for the destination filename. By default, it's the same as the source file. After entering and finishing via the newline character or using the 1, you get to the following screen:

Here you can choose what to do with the source and the destination file: move, copy or cancel?.
after that, you get a progress indicator telling you how far the progress is done and then the program quits. You got it!

How did you make the UI?

I used GEngine and its poly system. I also use the GEngine event tracking system for getting input from the user. For more info about GEngine, go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/gengine/

License, where, who?

I am Enno Welbers and I wrote this small handy program and released it under the GPL. It is hosted by sourceforge and the project site is available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/cfmove. There is a mailing list, several forums and a survey about the user interface available.
